Her career in journalism began with Myrtle Beach South Carolina as an anchor and news reporter at WPDE-TV. Later, she was morning news anchor for WCBD TV and was a crime reporter. In Charleston O'Dell's reporting about the relaxed approach police take towards DUI cases led to an State Law Enforcement Division investigation that resulted in states authorities again releasing a more stringent directive regarding these instances. According to the Associated Press awarded Ms. O'Dell her Best Report of the year award for the entire South Carolina media. Following her stint in Charleston, O'Dell worked as anchor for NBC's Miami Station WTVJ-TV and as an investigative journalist. After that, she became a part of Access Hollywood to work as an anchor on weekends and weekdays. O'Dell, in addition to anchoring the main show for Access Hollywood, also appears on NBC News Today as well Dateline NBC. She's reported on The Oscars The Emmys The Grammys The Golden Globe Awards and co-hosted various pre-show arrivals shows to The Emmys And The Golden Globes. She also co-hosted for the Miss USA pageant and the Miss Universe pageant.
